Numerous Standerton residents have been experiencing problems regarding the purchasing and redeeming of prepaid electricity vouchers since last week Wednesday. 

Residents could be seen in a queue stretching around the block, all anxious to have either a query resolved or to buy prepaid electricity. 

Mr Sipho Mkhwanazi, media liaison person at Lekwa Local Municipality, said that the municipal servers were off line and that residents with complaints or queries should visit the municipal offices.  Once the servers are on line again, all of the issues will hopefully be resolved. No estimate was given on how long the servers would be off line.
